Clive Christian was founded in 1999 after the English designer of the same name bought Crown Perfumery, a renowned perfume company founded in London in 1872 and given that name after being given permission by Queen Victoria to use the royal crown as a symbol of quality and brilliance. The company represents a beautiful craft, bringing to life a millennia-old history of scents in which, for Clive Christian, luxury, the pursuit of excellence, and tradition appear to have no bounds.

Clive Christian received an OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 2012 for his contributions as a designer to the British luxury goods industry, according to the New Year's Honours List.
